Morgan County, WV
Morgan County West Virginia is located on the Eastern flank of the Appalachian Mountains. It is located to the far west of the Washington Metropolitan Region and is the western-most county in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. The county is bound on the north by Washington County, MD and the Potomac River, on the west by Allegheny County, MD, on the east by Berkeley County, WV and on the south by Hampshire County, WV and Frederick County, VA. The Cacapon Mountain divides the county into the heavier populated eastern segment and the less-populated west. Morgan County covers 230 square miles of rural forested ridges and valleys, varies in elevation from a low of 400 feet at the Potomac River to a high of 2300 feet above sea level on the top of Cacapon Mountain, and is located about 106 miles from Washington, DC, and 107 miles from Baltimore, MD.
